Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is advancing a $5.6 million expansion at its Sarasota campus and developing a new $82.5 million, 83,000-square-foot Rehabilitation Pavilion at its Venice Campus – opening in early 2028.

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is actively accepting CVs from Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physicians looking to join this rapidly growing, nationally recognized rehabilitation program in Sarasota County.

  • Lead comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation care as a primary physiatrist, with the opportunity to expand your practice across consultative services and outpatient clinic settings within a fully integrated health system.
  • Deliver care at a state-of-the-art, hospital-based Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), fully supported by on-site diagnostics, advanced imaging, subspecialty consultants, and the complete resources of a major acute care hospital.
  • Manage a medically complex and diverse rehabilitation population, with a clinical focus in general PM&R.
  • Monday–Friday schedule with rotating call (primarily home-based). Weekend call typically includes admissions and evaluation of active medical issues with APP support, plus a post-call day off.
  • Optional opportunity to teach Florida State University medical students, as Sarasota Memorial Hospital is a core clinical training site.
  • Research opportunities exist at the SMH Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute, a state-of-the-art 82,000?sq?ft facility with clinical research resources, simulation labs, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Must be BE/BC and ACGME-trained in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
