Senior Medical Director, Heart & Vascular

Augusta Medical Group is seeking a dynamic physician leader to serve as Senior Medical Director for Heart & Vascular Services. This role provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across the cardiovascular service line while maintaining an active clinical practice.

The ideal candidate will be a board-certified cardiologist (any subspecialty considered) with demonstrated leadership experience and a passion for advancing quality, innovation, and team-based care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth, workforce planning, and service line development

• Ensure clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and innovation

• Drive quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives

• Partner with executive leadership on financial stewardship and operational efficiency

• Support provider engagement, mentoring, recruitment, and retention

• Represent the organization within the broader medical community

Specialties Under Oversight

General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Testing, and Vascular Surgery.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Board certification in a cardiovascular specialty

• Active medical license in good standing

• Prior leadership experience required

• MBA, MHA, or advanced administrative degree preferred
