East Alabama Health is actively expanding its behavioral health services and is seeking full-time Psychiatrists to join a growing, forward-thinking team. This is an exciting time to come on board, with a new 40-bed acute unit, a 20-bed Geriatric Psychiatry unit, and the recent opening of a state-of-the-art $40 million Center for Mental Health, you’ll have the opportunity to practice in a modern facility designed to support both patients and providers.

Position Highlights

• Inpatient focus with potential outpatient opportunities
• EMR: Cerner (inpatient and outpatient)
• Collaborative team: 8 psychiatrists (with 2 more joining by 2026), Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers and Therapists.  
• APP oversight required (with support structure in place)
• Access to a broad network of specialists
• Committee & Research opportunities with Auburn University
• EAH’s New ACGME-Accredited Psychiatry Residency Program—started summer of 2025. 
• Psychiatry faculty positions available
• New facilities and expansion featuring:
  • 40 private inpatient rooms
  • Relocation of East Alabama Psychiatric Services outpatient clinic
  • Dedicated space for the new psychiatric residency program
• 40-bed acute psychiatry unit

• BC/BE in Psychiatry (Adult, Child & Adolescent, or Geriatric subspecialties accepted)
• Practicing & 2026 graduates welcome
