Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine

Required Skills
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine or Maternal & Fetal Medicine subspecialty
- Proven experience performing amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and managing high-risk pregnancies
- Strong familiarity with fetal surveillance, ultrasound instrumentation, and linkage with EMR systems such as EPIC and Viewpoint
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to handle complex obstetric cases including pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancies, growth restrictions, and fetal anomalies
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience supervising or working alongside Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants)
- Skilled in performing cervical cerclage procedures
- Knowledge of genetic counseling and testing procedures
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensure
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in maternal-fetal medicine with high-risk pregnancies
Other Requirements
- Ability to work onsite at the hospital and outpatient clinic sites during scheduled coverage dates
- Willingness to travel or cover multiple hospital locations as needed
- Certification in obstetric ultrasound and fetal procedures is highly desirable
Position details include coverage starting on 03/06/2026, with flexible open dates in May 2026, and an hourly pay rate to be confirmed.
