St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates is seeking a fellowship trained Orthopedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon to join our growing, hospital employed orthopedic group. This is an opportunity to build a high volume, shoulder- and elbow–focused practice supported by a strong referral base, dedicated OR resources, and an experienced surgical team.  Join a leading health system in New York’s Capital Region, an area known for its affordable cost of living, excellent schools, and easy access to NYC, the Adirondacks, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

Position Details

  • Full time Orthopedic Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon
  • Practice focus on:
    • Shoulder & elbow reconstruction and arthroplasty
    • Arthroscopy
    • Rotator cuff repair
    • Instability
    • Sports- and degenerative elbow pathology
  • Shoulder & elbow–only practice (no hand or wrist requirement)
  • Surgeries performed at:
    • St. Peter’s Hospital – Albany, NY
    • Samaritan Hospital – Troy, NY
    • Access to a high performing ambulatory surgery center
  • No general orthopedics or trauma call 
  • Dedicated weekly OR block time
  • Strong support from experienced Orthopedic APPs (clinic and surgical assist)
  • State of the art technology, including advanced arthroscopy platforms and high quality imaging
  • Robust referral pipeline through an extensive primary care and specialty network
  • Collaborative, physician friendly environment with on site PT/OT

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible / Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship
    (Upper Extremity fellows with a primary Shoulder & Elbow focus will be considered)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience preferred as a practicing orthopedic surgeon
  • Demonstrated interest in building a high volume, specialty Shoulder & Elbow practice

Recruitment package:

St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes:

  • 3 Year Guarantee $725,000 – $800,000 for experienced surgeons.
  • The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
  • Starting Bonus of $25,000
  • Relocation Assistance up to $25,000
