Duties: The Hospitalist at Cleveland Clinic works at various Clinic hospitals in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area, including Main Campus (9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44195), Hillcrest Hospital (6780 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124), Fairview Hospital (18101 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44111), Medina Hospital (1000 E Washington Street, Medina, OH 44256), Avon Hospital (33300 Cleveland Clinic Boulevard, Avon, OH 44011), Marymount Hospital (12300 McCracken Road, Garfield Heights, OH 44125) and South Pointe Hospital (20000 Harvard Ave, Warrensville Heights, OH 44122). Hospitalists administer direct care to adult hospitalized patients. They communicate and coordinate internal medicine subspecialty care, provide support and direction to the management process for patients, and optimize short stay models and care pathways to facilitate effective and efficient patient journey in the hospital. They provide consultative services to subspecialty patients, evaluate patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery and outline preoperative risks, optimize chronic conditions, and prepare evidence-based recommendations for perioperative care. They ensure that coordination and safe care is provided in a timely and efficient manner. They train medical students, residents, and fellows, and set up effective liaison with administrative, medical, and nursing staff to facilitate prompt management. Evening and weekend on call responsibilities as needed.
Requirements: At a minimum, the position requires a MD, DO, or foreign degree equivalent as determined by a credentials evaluation or as evidenced by an ECFMG certificate, completion of a residency in Internal Medicine, Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Internal Medicine, and eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($292,000–$359,750)
