Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Proven expertise in outpatient gastroenterology procedures
- Proficiency in performing and interpreting esophageal dilatations, manometry, biopsies, colonoscopies, and ERCP
- Strong knowledge of adult hospital and office/clinic settings
- Excellent communication and patient management skills
- Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with advanced procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and PEG placement
- Prior hospital call coverage experience
- Ability to perform hepatology-related procedures
- Familiarity with managing complex gastrointestinal cases
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Valid medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of post-training clinical experience in gastroenterology
Other Requirements:
- Ability to commit to coverage beginning March 7, 2026, for a duration aligned with staffing needs
- Weekend hospital call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays
- Ability to provide a minimum of 8 procedures each weekend
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days
- Compliance with all hospital and state licensing requirements
- Travel and lodging reimbursements provided (~$150/night lodging cap)
This opportunity offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $19.50, paid weekly via direct deposit, along with comprehensive benefits, paid sick leave, and a robust support team dedicated to your success.
