Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine Jackson, OH

Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency medical care to diverse patient populations in a busy ED
• Oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Manage admissions, write orders, and coordinate care with consulting specialists
• Cover shifts of 8 or 12 hours, with a minimum of 5 shifts per month (preferably 8-10)
• Start as soon as credentialed, with a minimum commitment of 12 months

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid medical license and board certification in Emergency Medicine
• Proven experience in ED settings with strong clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to independently manage a high volume of patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience overseeing APPs is preferred

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with All Scripts/Paragon EMR systems
• Previous experience in trauma-level hospitals or in fast-track ED environments
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, ATLS, PALS

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Minimum of 2 years of post-residency emergency medicine experience
• Prior locum or hospital-based EM experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:

• Availability for shifts starting March 7, 2026
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights
• Must book all travel through designated provider
• No overtime opportunities
• Medical staff fees will not be reimbursed; physician conversion fee capped at $18-$20K

Compensation for this role is highly competitive at $273 per hour, with weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), and additional perks including referral bonuses and licensure/travel reimbursements when applicable.
