Bariatrician Physician FP without OB

Franciscan Medical Group is seeking a Weight Management/Obesity Medicine Physician to join our team in Federal Way on the campus of St. Francis Hospital. The selected candidate must have a strong interest in obesity management; a Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine or an obesity medicine fellowship is preferred.

The Center for Weight Management offers a strong, cohesive team who is familiar with medical weight loss, including an onsite Dietitian. This 1.0 FTE opportunity offers the flexibility of 4 or 5 work days with no call coverage. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Diagnosis and multimodal treatment of patients with obesity and related metabolic disorders. This includes behavioral counseling/lifestyle coaching, pharmacotherapy, and care coordination with dietitians, bariatric surgeons, physical therapists, and mental health providers.
• Manage patients with post-bariatric surgery metabolic issues (e.g., weight regain, hypoglycemia, vitamin deficiencies) 
  Provides full-time outpatient clinical care.
• Participates in Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Center for Weight Management program development activities (e.g., MBSAQIP meetings, care conferences, and strategy meetings).
• Proficient in the use of the electronic medical record (Epic).
•  After-hours and hospital coverage for practice patients.

Certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (optional, but favorable).
Active Washington State medical license in good standing prior to start date.
Current DEA certification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to quality care in a patient-centered, team-based environment.
Candidates should have a passion for obesity and weight loss management.
