The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatricians to provide inpatient and outpatient care in Chinle, AZ. This is a mission-driven opportunity serving a pediatric population in an underserved community, offering a balanced clinical scope, manageable patient volume, and strong team support.

Assignment Overview

  • Start: ASAP (after credentialing)
  • Duration: 3 months with option to extend up to 1 year
  • Reason for Need: Staff shortage

Schedule & Call

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Call: Shared 1:7 rotation (average)

Practice Setting

  • Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
  • Patient Volume: 12–15 patients per day (average)
  • Patient Population: Pediatrics (under 18)

Clinical Scope

  • Outpatient pediatric care
  • Inpatient pediatric coverage
  • Management of general pediatric conditions across care settings

  • Collaborative team including:
    • Specialty Physicians
    • Advanced Practice Providers
    • Nurses
    • Administrative staff
  • Strong support structure in a community-focused setting

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible – Pediatrics
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required
  • DEA required
  • Any active U.S. state license accepted

  • Credentialing Timeframe: ~8–10 weeks
