Job Description

Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) Dartmouth Health, Lebanon, NH The Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) is a senior executive leader Clinical Informatics who partners with the Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) to lead enterprise clinical informatics strategy, while serving as the authoritative executive voice for nursing informatics practice across Dartmouth Health. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive oversight and strategic direction for nursing informatics across all care settings, including inpatient, ambulatory, perioperative, procedural, home care, and specialty services.
  • Serve as the principal nursing informatics executive, connecting nursing interests within enterprise clinical informatics governance, prioritization, and investment decisions.
  • Partner with Nursing Executive Leadership to align informatics strategy with professional practice models, Magnet standards, patient safety goals, and nursing workforce optimization.
  • Facilitate nursing informatics stewardship of relevant EHR design, optimization, and lifecycle management, including documentation standards, clinical decision support, order sets, dashboards, and interoperability.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in the state(s) served.
  • ANCC Board certification in Nursing Informatics (RN-BC) — REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including substantial responsibility for clinical informatics, health IT strategy, or enterprise EHR initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading informatics efforts within a large, complex healthcare organization.
