OU Health and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, are seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a rapidly growing academic pediatric behavioral health program in Oklahoma City. This is a full-time, inpatient-focused faculty position (Clinical Educator Track) working within OU Health’s new expanded pediatric behavioral health facilities and serving a large statewide referral region.

With a strong academic foundation, collaborative interdisciplinary teams, and substantial patient need, this is an ideal opportunity for psychiatrists interested in impactful clinical work, teaching, and program expansion.

  • 72+ beds across child, adolescent, and neurodevelopmental units
    • 6 neurodevelopmental
    • 12 child

  • Serves as Oklahoma’s largest pediatric behavioral health center

  • Supported by a new statewide initiative to expand pediatric mental health capacity

Position Details

Clinical

  • 100% Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Opportunity for reimbursed weekend coverage
  • No telemedicine for this role
  • Potential to collaborate with PHP programs

Call

  • Weekday: Low volume, shared among Child Psychiatry faculty; after-hours filtered through answering service
  • Weekend: Minimal, consultative; paid additional call available

Team Structure

  • 7 Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists currently
  • 2+ APPs (expanded growth planned)
  • Interdisciplinary access to:
    • Pediatric Neurology
    • Psychology
    • Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
    • Social Work
    • Integrated Behavioral Health Therapists
  • Epic EMR (inpatient & outpatient)

Academic Opportunities

  • Supervise residents, fellows, medical students, and APP learners

Candidate Requirements

  • BE/BC Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Fellowship-trained C&A psychiatrists from 2025–2026 graduation accepted
  • Eligible for or holding an Oklahoma medical license
  • DEA certification
  • Comfort supervising learners
