Program Overview:

Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent treatment center team, located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Rogers Child and Adolescent teams offer both inpatient and residential levels of care.

Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, dietitians and mental health technicians are committed to providing compassionate, effective care for those diagnosed with mental disorders.

Our treatment programs are tailored to the unique needs of the patients to provide the best outcomes for every patient. This role is within our acute care setting, and has 24/7 care, with call being distributed equally amongst the medical staff.

Responsibilities for Role:

  • Ensure the quality and sustainability of the medical services of assigned patients.
  • Demonstrate professional and accurate communication with staff, patients, families and community partners.
  • Engage in quality initiatives including effective treatment and discharge planning.
  • Responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, determining diagnoses, completing appropriate exams as needed (including H&P), and prescribing medications for patients with psychiatric conditions.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with clinical, operational and support teams.
  • Assist with the development of external community provider relationships upon request.
  • Provide quality evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • May serve as the assigned attending provider and is a critical part of encouraging patients to be active participants in their treatment via education, and on-going communication.
  • Participate in an environment of team-based multidisciplinary care that fosters a culture of respect and well-being for patients and staff alike.
  • Collaborate and communicate with clinical and operational team members, family members/identified support individuals and outside providers for treatment progress updates and discharge planning.
  • Assist with admission screenings for the program as needed.
  • Participate in professional/ media/ community/ outreach efforts to promote Rogers’ expertise in the mental health and substance use treatment industry. (May include but not limited to: Conference Attendance, Speaking Engagements, Community Partner Meetings)
  • Complete all required documentation thoroughly and within the expected time.
  • Maintain productivity standards.

Additional Job Description:

 

Preferred Experience:

Two or more years of experience working as a provider of children and adolescent patients in another licensed hospital or clinic

Licenses/Designations/Certifications:

  • Be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as an MD or DO with specialization in psychiatry, and meet all relevant state and federal requirements for credentialing.
  • Board-eligible physician. Board certification is strongly preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university and medical school.
  • Successful completion of a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship program, if working with children additional residency with this age group must have been obtained.
  • Previous work or moonlighting experience working as a psychiatrist in another licensed hospital is preferred.
  • Leadership and/ or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization is preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement implementation preferred.

  • Inpatient: 3-10 days acute stabilization and withdrawal management.

  • Partial Hospitalization Care: 6 to 6.5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • Residential Treatment: 30-90 days, 7 days per week.
