Job Description

About this role:

We are looking for a Critical Care Intensivist with a strong background in cardiac critical care to work at Intermountain Medical Center, the premier academic medical center and flagship quaternary hospital for Intermountain Health. This state-of-the-art facility currently has 96 ICU beds and 4 specialized ICUs and is in the process of expanding. Intermountain Medical Center is ranked #1 in the United States for MI survival treatment and is a Three Star STS Cardiac Surgery Hospital.

As a physician in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU)  you will work in a 24-bed unit that specializes in the care of non-surgical cardiac patients, including cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, cardiac arrest, STEMI, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, unstable arrhythmias, and percutaneous valvular interventions. The CICU manages several advanced therapies such as pulmonary artery catheters, CRRT, Impellas, LVADs, IABPs and ventilators.

In this role you can anticipate:

  • Providing care in a 24?bed Coronary Intensive Care Unit at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
  • Ten 14.5-hour night shifts per month; including a mix of shifts mid-week, weekends, and holidays (5PM-7:30AM)
  • No call expectation 
  • An ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac critical care

  • Competitive Compensation: $480,000.00 annual salary
  • Incentives: $30,000 starting bonus, and up to $20,000 relocation assistance (if applicable)

What you’ll bring: 

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine 
  • Residency training in Cardiovascular, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia or Emergency Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Critical Care Medicine
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
