Join Our Team as a Hematology/Oncology Physician
VHS is seeking a dedicated Hematology/Oncology Physician to deliver exceptional care to adult patients in a dynamic rural community setting. This vital role offers the opportunity to contribute to comprehensive cancer and blood disorder treatments, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes. Required Skills:
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience
- Valid DEA license
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system
- Strong diagnostic and patient management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with tumor board participation
- Prior exposure to rural healthcare settings
- Familiarity with infusion center protocols
- BMT consult experience (not required)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Successful completion of Hematology and Oncology fellowship
- Ability to obtain licensing or consider IMLC certification
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to license in the state
- Availability for a 90-day credentialing process (temp credentialing available)
- Commitment to minimum 6-month engagement with ongoing opportunities
- Ability to work day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary rounds
- Must adhere to all applicable licensure, certification, and compliance standards
This full-time position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $480.39, with benefits including comprehensive medical coverage, weekly pay via direct deposit, paid sick leave, and various reimbursement opportunities. The community infusion center features on-site nurses and a supportive team environment, emphasizing quality patient care. Weekend call coverage is limited to two weekends per month, with weekday evening and weekend shifts structured to promote work-life balance.
