Join Our Team as a Medical Oncology Physician – Make a Difference in Cancer Care
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Oncology Physician to provide exceptional care to adult patients within a dynamic hospital setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient consults and manage new referral patients in both oncology and hematology.
- Diagnose, stage, and develop comprehensive treatment plans, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team consisting of oncology RNs, nurse navigators, medical assistants, support staff, pharmacists, and billing professionals.
- Ensure accurate documentation and effective patient management using EMRs (ONCO for clinic, Cerner for hospital).
- Support the department's goal to deliver high-quality oncology care to patients aged 18 and above.
Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology Oncology.
- At least 1 year of recent relevant clinical experience.
- Valid DEA and CSR licenses.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency in inpatient consults, cancer diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Ability to work efficiently within EMR systems.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with bone marrow biopsies.
- Prior experience working in large hospital settings.
- Additional certifications or training in oncology treatments.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO with board certification in Medical Oncology.
- Experience working with adult oncology patients.
- Prior outpatient and inpatient oncology practice preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Must have or be willing to obtain a state medical license (preferred but IMLC considered).
- Willingness to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Ability to travel to Pittsburgh International Airport with paid airfare, hotel, and rental car/gas.
- Credentialing process typically completed within two weeks.
- Compensation includes an hourly rate of $546 with overtime at 1.4x after 40 hours, and holiday pay at 1.5x.
