We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatrician to provide exceptional care in a high-demand, socioeconomically challenged community. This locum position offers an immediate start date of April 27, 2026, with the potential for a permanent placement for the right candidate. Responsibilities include seeing approximately 25 patients per day in a clinic setting, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible lunch breaks. There is no call requirement, and scheduled hours include a guaranteed 8 hours per day, with overtime applying after 9 hours. The provider will be responsible for participating in credentialing processes, maintaining EMR proficiency (preferably EPIC), and understanding community needs. Experience in the High Desert area or familiarity with the local demographic is advantageous.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Active CA medical license and DEA certification
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency completion
- BLS certification
- Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC
- Strong clinical skills and ability to handle a high patient volume (average of 25/day)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a socioeconomically challenged community
Nice to Have Skills:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Prior experience working in high-demand or underserved settings
- Knowledge of the High Desert region and community health needs
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD) from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency in Pediatrics
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a pediatric setting (preferred, but new graduates eligible)
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel if necessary (please specify in your bid)
- Submit applicable credentialing documents promptly, including driver’s license, social security card, diplomas, wall certificate or pocket card from the CA Medical Board, DEA, and malpractice documents
- No privilege requirements; provider can start upon access setup
