What You’ll Do:
- Provide expert OB/GYN care in a hospital setting, covering hospital and call duties with potential clinic coverage.
- Manage both obstetric emergencies and routine GYN cases, including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, surgical assistants, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Handle a low call-back ratio, allowing for a balanced work environment while maintaining excellent patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
- DC or MD medical degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligibility for licensing.
- Proven experience performing deliveries, C-sections, and managing obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in EPIC EMR system.
- Prior locum or hospitalist experience.
- High-risk obstetrics experience, including managing complex cases with maternal-fetal medicine support.
- Flexible availability covering multiple dates and shifts.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of OB/GYN hospital practice, with recent delivery experience preferred.
- Evidence of excellent clinical skills and a clean malpractice history.
Other Requirements:
- Local candidates are preferred; accommodations and travel reimbursement considered for out-of-area providers.
- Credentialing process of 60-90 days; Temp privileges may be available for qualified candidates.
- Ability to work various shifts, including on-call, clinic days, and hospital coverage, as outlined in the specific schedule.
