Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of thoracic and cardiac surgical procedures, including minimally invasive mitral surgeries, aortic valve conservation, aortic root remodeling, and enlargement.
- Support implantable procedures such as Impella devices, ensuring optimal patient safety and outcome.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalized patient care.
- Provide coverage during scheduled hours, with on-call support during weekends.
Required Skills:
- Proven expertise in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, particularly minimally invasive techniques.
- Proficiency in Impella device support and related inplante procedures.
- Strong knowledge of aortic valve and root surgeries.
- Excellent surgical skills, attention to detail, and patient management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and handle high-pressure situations.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with thoracic endovascular procedures.
- Advanced certifications in cardiothoracic surgery.
- Prior experience in a similar high-volume surgical setting.
- Familiarity with emerging surgical technologies and techniques.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-residency surgical experience, with a focus on complex thoracic and cardiac surgeries.
Other Requirements:
- Licensure and certification valid in the practicing state.
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday with weekend call coverage.
- Long-term availability preferred, with at least two weeks of ongoing coverage per month.
- Willingness to travel if required; all travel and related reimbursements will be provided.
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date medical licensure and certifications.
