Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active New Jersey Medical License
- Certification in BLS and ACLS
- Proven experience in Adult Cardiac Surgery, including CABG, Off-Pump CABG, and Arterial Revascularization
- Ability to perform Pericardial Window procedures and redo coronary revascularization with or without heart valve surgery
- Excellent surgical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a hospital-based setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with ancillary staff and team members
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working with PowerChart (Cerner) or similar electronic medical records systems
- Experience supporting Level II Trauma centers and working within a multidisciplinary cardiac care team
- Familiarity with managing perioperative and intensive care unit (ICU) patient needs
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Substantial post-fellowship experience in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery—ideally a minimum of 3-5 years in a hospital setting
Other Requirements:
- Active NJ medical licensure with credentialing approval within approximately 30 days
- Ability to work a schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with call shifts estimated at 12-13 per month (schedule details to be confirmed)
- Flexibility to handle call duties including nights, holidays, and overtime as required
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and surgical excellence
