Join Our Team as a Locum OB/GYN Physician in Richmond, VA – Make a Difference in Women's Healthcare
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum OB/GYN Physicians (MD/DO) to provide exceptional care at Bon Secours Richmond OB/GYN at St. Marys. This is a vital opportunity to contribute to women's health in a collaborative environment, supporting both outpatient and hospital-based services across multiple dates from late May through August. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide OB/GYN services including low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, ultrasounds, fetal monitoring, and routine delivery procedures.
- Perform gynecologic procedures such as IUD insertions, colposcopies, cystoscopies, LEEP, and minor surgeries.
- Manage a patient load of approximately 25-30 women daily in a practice supported by dedicated clinical staff.
- Deliver care during scheduled office hours (8 AM – 4 PM) and handle 24-hour call coverage, including emergency and obstetric call duties.
- Collaborate with a team of four physicians and five midwives, utilizing onsite labs, ultrasound, and advanced OB/GYN equipment.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with unrestricted license to practice in Virginia.
- Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with competency in low and high-risk pregnancies.
- Ability to interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, OB ultrasounds, and perform OB procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate care effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and respond to emergency situations during call hours.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in managing VBACs, complex deliveries, or advanced gynecologic surgeries.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems or similar documentation platforms.
- Previous experience in Level III NICU environments or tertiary care settings.
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical practice as a licensed OB/GYN physician.
- Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Active Virginia medical license and DEA certification.
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts with call responsibilities.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and patient confidentiality.
- Credentialing completion expected within approximately 120 days of approval.
