Title: Neurology Physicians (multiple openings)

 

Worksite Location:   Mansfield, OH           

 

Duties: Provide direct clinical care in the specialty of neurology. Responsible for the evaluation and management of patients using evidence-based best practices and department guidelines, including appropriate referrals to specialists, performing diagnostic testing and performing procedures deemed medically necessary to improve the health of the patient. Develop overall goals of care with patients, families and their healthcare professionals. Participate in Virtual Health as a portion of the care delivery model supporting access for patients requiring neurology assessments and treatment. Prepare and clearly communicate healthcare plans to ensure involved teams can best carry out the plan. Perform diagnostic tests and procedures medically necessary to improve the health of the patient. Participate in standardization of neurologic services to gain operational efficiencies and improve patient care. Rotating call as necessary to attend to patients’ off-hours needs. Participate in hospital call coverage at designated care sites for inpatient neurology consults. Assist in developing protocols, policies & procedures designed to improve the overall quality of the neurology service. Assist in clinical supervision and education of nursing staff, medical staff, medical students, residents, fellows and nurse practitioners. May perform administrative duties, such as assisting in development of administrative policies and procedures relevant to improving quality of neurological care, recruitment of physicians, development of cost-effective operations, assuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards and delivery of neurology services to improve operational performance, etc. Assist in the implementation of marketing and communications strategies for growth including occasional interview and/or public speaking. Provide hospital or telemedicine neurology consult coverage to support the general neurology patient population during periods of critical need. Participate in relevant planning and operations Neurology department meetings as determined by the neuroscience vice president and other administrative leadership. Support the development of cost-effective operations and the delivery of efficient patient care services. Assist in analyzing data relative to performance of neurology services to improve operational performance (for example, costs of medical supplies & products, equipment, etc.).

Requirements: MD or DO, Ohio Medical License, DEA licensure, BC/BE in neurology, knowledge of current best practices and evidence-based care in neurology, and demonstrated clinical and leadership abilities.
