Required Skills:

• Valid and active Alaska medical license
• Current Alaska DEA certification
• Proven experience in general surgery, including trauma and emergency procedures
• Ability to handle 24-hour beeper call shifts reliably
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under pressure

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous locum tenens experience in rural or remote settings
• Familiarity with Alaska healthcare regulations
• Bilingual abilities relevant to the Kodiak community

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery
• At least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Proven track record of managing emergency surgical cases in high-pressure settings

Other Requirements:

• Must hold an active Alaska medical license and DEA license prior to start date
• No overtime or guaranteed hours; shifts are based on 24-hour call coverage
• This position is shift-based with potential reimbursements for travel, licensure, and certification expenses
