Inpatient Rehab Hospitalist – Covenant HealthCare with Mary Free Bed

The Opportunity

Covenant HealthCare, in collaboration with the nationally recognized Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Physician (3+ years of experience) to join our inpatient rehabilitation team in Saginaw, MI. This unique role allows you to focus exclusively on an inpatient rehab population while enjoying the stability and support of a premier hospital-employed medical group.

Position Highlights

  • Targeted Focus: Provide high-quality care exclusively for patients at Mary Free Bed at Covenant.
  • Predictable Schedule: Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Optimal Work-Life Balance: This full-time position consists of 15 shifts per month with flexible scheduling that departs from the rigid 7-on/7-off model.
  • No On-Call Requirements: Physicians are only responsible for care and requests within their active working hours; night coverage is managed by the Universal Hospitalist team.
  • Clinical Environment: Focus purely on medical management with no procedures and support from closed ICUs at the main campus.

Workflow & Expectations

  • Collaborative Admissions: Admissions are managed through a dedicated secure chat group and alternated between the two primary rehab attendings to ensure a balanced census.
  • Supportive Sign-Out: Efficient daily summaries and verbal sign-outs ensure seamless transitions of care.
