Position Overview

Sinai Medical Group, part of The Mount Sinai Community Foundation, is seeking a Full-Time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Hospitalist Attending Physician to join our growing inpatient team in Chicago.

This position offers a structured, team-based hospitalist model with a predictable schedule and the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population across multiple hospital settings. The ideal candidate is committed to high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborative practice.

Practice Highlights

  • 14 shifts per month (12-hour shifts)
  • Hospital-based practice:
    • Holy Cross Hospital
  • Structured call responsibilities aligned with hospital coverage models
  • Built-in schedule supporting strong work-life balance (7-on/7-off style model)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients
  • Evaluate, admit, and manage patients throughout hospitalization
  • Respond to consultation requests, including Emergency Department support as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and continuity of care
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation and billing practices
  • Participate in call coverage and comply with EMTALA and hospital requirements
  • Engage in quality improvement, utilization review, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Eligible for unrestricted Illinois medical license
  • Eligible for medical staff membership within Sinai Health System hospitals
