At the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, we are working together to achieve excellent health. Through Native Self-Determination and providing a Culturally Relevant Health System, we strive to be the healthiest people. Our outpatient family medicine team supports these initiatives by providing full spectrum family medicine in its purest form—caring for an entire village.
While our clinic system is based in Bethel, Alaska, most of our 30,000 patients live in smaller, outlying subsistence communities spread across an area the size of Oregon. Each physician panel (capped at 1,300 patients) is constructed around one or two of these villages. Physicians primarily see their patients in Bethel, but also travel to their continuity village(s) by small plane at least four times annually. If you are looking for a fascinating, impactful practice, we invite you to join our committed, mission-driven medical staff.
Our providers enjoy flexible administrative time, no afterhours or weekend call, opportunities for telehealth/remote work, generous CME, among many other benefits. We value quality of care above volume.
Reach out with any questions, and we will look forward to learning about you and your career goals.

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, commonly referred to as YKHC, is a Tribal Organization that administers a comprehensive healthcare delivery system for 58 rural communities in southwest Alaska.
Each of the communities in our service area is home to a federally-recognized Tribe, whose governing council has authorized YKHC to provide health services on behalf of the federal Indian Health Service (IHS).
YKHC’s healthcare delivery system includes community clinics, sub-regional clinics in five of the area’s larger communities, a regional hospital, dental and optometry services, behavioral health services, counseling and treatment for individuals with substance use disorders, health promotion and disease prevention programs, and environmental health services.
The city of Bethel with approximately 6,000 inhabitants sits on the banks of the Kuskokwim river. As the hub of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, Bethel serves as the center for transportation and culture. The 58 surrounding villages represent a predominantly Yupik Eskimo culture that still relies heavily on their hunter-gatherer traditions. The sprawling 19 million acre Yukon Delta National Wilderness refuge provides ample opportunity to enjoy nature’s beauty.
