Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Santa Rosa, CA as a Physician – Primary Care!
The Physician serves as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) at any Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The CBOC operates under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. Together with his or her team, comprised of a PCP, RN, LVN, and a Clerk, the PCP cares for a panel of approximately 800-1200 patients. The PCP provides primary care services in a team-based setting, including chronic disease management and preventive health. Common diagnoses encountered include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for non-surgical adult patients of all ages, without life-threatening complications and with a wide variety of diseases, injuries, and disorders.
- Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
- Collaborate with/oversee mid-level providers such as other nurse practitioners and works collaboratively with other specialties (and subspecialties) in and outside of the VA system to manage or co-manage patients' health.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Benefits and Features
- Expected Salary range from $285K to $315K (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience).
- Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Authorized.
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, excluding Federal Government holidays
- Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time-off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
- Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
- Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
- Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
- CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).
- Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
