Share Your Expertise in an Upcoming Ophthalmic Device Usability Study

Bold Insight, a leading healthcare research firm, is seeking Ophthalmic Surgeons and Surgical Scrub Nurses/Technologists to participate in an upcoming in-person usability study evaluating an innovative ophthalmic device.

This is a paid, one-on-one research opportunity designed to gather feedback from experienced ophthalmic professionals. This is not a clinical trial and does not involve patient care, medications, or live surgical procedures.

Study Overview

Location: New York City (In-Person)
Dates: Anticipated June 22–27, 2026
Format: Individual usability sessions

Participants Will:

  • Complete device training
  • Interact with a simulated ophthalmic device
  • Perform tasks using a training model (no patient procedures)
  • Provide professional feedback and insights during a discussion session

Compensation

Ophthalmic Surgeons

Total Honorarium: $1,500

  • $300 for completing training
  • $1,200 for completing the testing session

Surgical Scrub Nurses / Surgical Technologists

Total Honorarium: $450

  • $125 for completing training
  • $325 for completing the testing session

Compensation will be provided upon successful completion of all required study activities.

Participant Qualifications

Ophthalmic Surgeons

  • MD or DO
  • Board-certified in Ophthalmology
  • Currently practicing in Ophthalmology (General Ophthalmology or Glaucoma specialty)
  • XEN GelStent certified
  • Experience performing XEN implant procedures

Surgical Scrub Nurses / Surgical Technologists

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Currently provide intraoperative support for ophthalmic procedures
  • Experience assisting with ophthalmic implant procedures

General Requirements

  • Must reside in the United States
  • Available to attend an in-person session in New York City
  • Comfortable being video and audio recorded for research purposes
  • Not employed by a pharmaceutical company, medical device manufacturer, or market research organization
  • Willing to sign confidentiality and informed consent agreements

Additional Information

  • This is a usability and research study only
  • No medications, treatments, or live patient procedures are involved
  • All activities are conducted using training models and simulated devices
  • Participants must provide valid identification and applicable professional credentials
  • All information shared during the study will remain confidential
