• License/Certifications: Active or IMLC license, DEA required, Board Certified in Family Practice (rural health experience preferred)
• Experience: Rural health, emergency, hospitalist, obstetrics/c-sections (if needed in emergencies)

What You’ll Do

• Provide emergency services across broad scope cases, including ER, outpatient, and OB emergencies
• Cover inpatient and outpatient primary care needs, with potential to assist in C-section emergencies
• Respond to overnight call shifts with Beeper Call duties
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure smooth patient transfers as needed
• Work in a small rural hospital environment with a supportive team
• Support critical access hospital operations during peak times

What You Need

• Active medical license in relevant state or IMLC compact
• DEA certification
• Board Certified in Family Practice (or equivalent), with rural health experience preferred
• At least 2 years of emergency or rural hospital experience
• Versatile clinical skills in emergency, outpatient, and obstetric care
• Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting

Providence Valdez serves as a critical access hospital providing essential inpatient and outpatient services in Alaska’s scenic community. Providers should be adaptable, willing to handle broad scope emergency cases, and capable of working independently in a rural setting. Lodging accommodations are provided in hospital apartments; pet-free environment. Travel provisions include flight into Anchorage and regional ground transfer or flight into Valdez.
