Position Overview

The Palm Beach Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Gastroenterologist with expertise in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to join our expanding GI program. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice the full spectrum of general and advanced gastroenterology, with a balanced mix of inpatient consults, procedural care, and outpatient clinical practice.


Key Responsibilities

Advanced & General GI Procedures

  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including:
    • EUS (diagnostic and therapeutic)
    • ERCP (complex biliary and pancreatic interventions)
  • Perform general GI procedures:
    • Colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD)
    • Polypectomy, dilation, stenting, PEG placement
  • Manage complex GI disorders including pancreaticobiliary diseases, GI malignancies, IBD, and liver disease

Inpatient Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative services for hospitalized patients with acute and complex GI conditions
  • Manage cases such as:
    • GI bleeding
    • Biliary obstruction
    • Pancreatitis and cholangitis
  • Participate in a shared call schedule for inpatient coverage
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, oncology, and interventional radiology

Outpatient Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients in a clinic setting, covering both general and subspecialty GI conditions
  • Provide preventive care including colorectal cancer screening and surveillance
  • Ensure continuity of care through follow-up and chronic disease management
  • Build a robust procedural practice within the ambulatory setting

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship training
  • Completion of Advanced Endoscopy fellowship (EUS/ERCP required)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in FL

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • High procedural volume in EUS and ERCP
  • Experience with advanced therapeutic techniques (e.g., FNA/FNB, complex stenting)
  • Interest in program development and expanding advanced endoscopy services
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment

A 333-bed acute care facility, Good Samaritan Medical Center serves residents of Palm Beach County

The hospital provides comprehensive cancer services at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Institute in addition to a broad range of medical and surgical care. Other cancer services are provided through the Ruth C. Heede Gamma Knife Center, the Norma E. and Miles M. Zisson Comprehensive Breast Center and the Abraham and Beverly Sommer Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Unit. 

The hospital also assists the medical community in caring for patients with known or suspected cardio diseases through the Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Good Samaritan.

A wide range of outpatient services including outpatient surgery and diagnostic imaging are provided in the Victor W. Farris Medical Building located beside the hospital on the Good Samaritan Medical Center campus. 24-hour emergency service is also provided. 

The Good Samaritan Medical Center campus is located on Flagler Drive overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.
