Job Description
Sutter North Medical Group (SNMG) seeks to hire a BE/BC General Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team in Yuba City, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and detect eye diseases or abnormalities
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy
- Perform surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, laser treatments, and other ophthalmologic interventions (if applicable to subspecialty)
- Prescribe medications and corrective lenses as needed
- Interpret diagnostic testing results (e.g., OCT, visual fields, fundus photography)
- Educate patients on eye care, treatment plans, and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Collaborate with optometrists, primary care providers, and other specialists for coordinated patient care
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology through continuing education
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Active (or eligible for) CA state medical license
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., retina, cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastic) preferred but not required
- Strong clinical and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
