Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, an 885 bed tertiary care academic medical center, partners closely with Wake Forest University School of Medicine, creating a strong environment for education, innovation, and clinical research. The program is structured to manage the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease, from preventive and general cardiology to advanced interventions, heart failure, transplant, structural heart disease, and complex electrophysiology. This academic integration allows physicians to care for some of the most complex cardiac and vascular patients in the region while remaining engaged in teaching and scholarly activity. Programs include advanced heart failure and transplant, congenital heart disease, structural heart interventions, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular and endovascular surgery.
Education and training are cornerstones of the program. The institution maintains long standing, ACGME accredited fellowship programs in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure/transplant, vascular and cardiothoracic surgery, and advanced practice provider cardiovascular fellowships.
Position Overview
Full-time, 1.0 FTE, vascular medicine faculty which consists of 9 half day clinical outpatient sessions and one administrative half day session per week, on average.
Assistant professor or higher academic appointment based on past experience.
Participate in didactic and clinic based teaching of cardiovascular and vascular surgery fellows. Develop research interests: mentoring, formal coursework, collaborations and support available.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Winston-Salem, NC (1-2 days/week)
Other sites: High Point Congdon Vascular Center, Atrium Premier Heart and Vascular, Atrium Greensboro Heart and Vascular outpatient clinics
Procedures & Imaging
Vascular lab reading in rotation with vascular surgery
Varicose veins procedure clinic (depending on interest and training)
Call & Weekend Coverage
Availability for calls from vascular fellows as needed. Occasional weekend vascular lab reading responsibilities.
