Opportunity Description

Are you a Georgia-licensed physician who wants meaningful clinical influence without a demanding schedule? Join Happier Living — a national, clinician-led telehealth practice — as a Collaborating Physician supporting our Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs). This is a low-burden, remote role designed to fit alongside your existing practice.

THE ROLE: COLLABORATING PHYSICIAN (GEORGIA)

As a Collaborating Physician, you will provide the physician collaboration and oversight required for our Georgia-based PMHNPs to practice, in accordance with Georgia's nurse protocol and physician delegation requirements. This is a collaboration-only role — there is no direct patient caseload and no expectation that you carry your own panel.

Your involvement is intentionally light. Our PMHNPs are experienced, and our administrative and clinical-leadership infrastructure handles scheduling, documentation workflows, and compliance tracking. Your role is to be available for consultation, conduct the periodic chart reviews required by state regulation, and serve as a clinical resource when questions arise.

OUR APPROACH TO CARE — DESIGNED TO MITIGATE RISK

The collaboration you provide is intentionally low-risk because of how we practice. Happier Living is psychotherapy-forward: the core of every client relationship is a 40-minute weekly recurring therapy session, not a brief medication check. Most clients are engaged, motivated adults with depression and anxiety, and many are treated with psychotherapy alone.

When medication is indicated, our clinicians take a deliberately conservative approach — favoring well-established, lower-risk medications, avoiding polypharmacy, and reserving controlled substances for clearly appropriate cases. Because the therapeutic relationship is built on consistent weekly contact, clinicians know their clients well and can monitor response and tolerability closely over time.

This model mitigates clinical and collaboration risk to the greatest degree possible: lower medication exposure, fewer high-acuity presentations, consistent longitudinal monitoring, weekly Medical and Therapy Case Conferences, and a robust clinical-leadership and compliance infrastructure backing every chart. For a collaborating physician, that means the care you are overseeing is conservative, well-documented, and closely followed.

WHY PHYSICIANS CHOOSE THIS ROLE

  • Minimal Time Burden A low-commitment role structured to fit around your existing practice — no panel, no recurring sessions, no on-call grind.
  • Paid Per NP Straightforward compensation on a per-NP basis. Support one or several PMHNPs depending on your availability and interest.
  • Fully Remote Provide collaboration and chart review from anywhere using our streamlined telehealth and EMR platform — no commute, no overhead.
  • Collegial, Clinician-Led Culture Optional participation in weekly Medical and Therapy Case Conferences and close collegiality with our psychiatry and PMHNP teams.
  • Meaningful Impact Your collaboration directly expands access to high-quality behavioral healthcare for clients across Georgia.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the collaborating/delegating physician for one or more Georgia-based PMHNPs under a nurse protocol agreement.
  • Conduct the periodic chart reviews required by Georgia regulation.
  • Be reasonably available for consultation and clinical questions from collaborating PMHNPs.
  • Help ensure care delivered by collaborating PMHNPs meets evidence-based, high-quality standards.
  • Optionally participate in weekly 40-minute Case Conferences.

REQUIREMENTS

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Georgia medical license.
  • Physician located in or licensed in Georgia — URGENT NEED.
  • Psychiatry training/board certification (ABPN) strongly preferred; physicians with relevant behavioral health experience considered.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Comfort collaborating with and supporting PMHNPs.
  • Familiarity with Georgia nurse protocol / physician delegation requirements (a plus).
  • Proficiency with Zoom, EMRs, and ePrescribing platforms.
  • Minimal time commitment — flexible, low-burden involvement.

ALSO HIRING: CLIENT-FACING PSYCHIATRISTS
Beyond this collaboration role, Happier Living is actively hiring client-facing, remote telehealth Psychiatrists. In that role, clinicians carry their own panel and deliver evidence-based psychotherapy within 40-minute weekly recurring sessions — often without medication management — building enduring therapeutic relationships in a model that prioritizes depth of care over volume. Full-time and part-time options are available (8–40 clinical hours per week), as W2 employee or 1099 contractor, and we welcome Residents and Fellows directly out of training.

If you, or a colleague you'd refer, are interested in direct client care rather than (or in addition to) a collaboration role, let our Talent Team know and we'll share details.
