We are seeking a part-time Telehealth Psychiatrist to support our Outpatient Services programs in Harrisburg, PA and Carlilse, PA.

Pay range: $200-$210/hour

Shift: 10-12 hours per week + 1 hour per week supporting the Mobile Psychiatric Nursing (MPN) program.

Licensed Psychiatrist in Pennsylvania with current, unrestricted licensure required.

Position details:

The Telehealth Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for adults with behavioral health needs. This position collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, accessible psychiatric care through telehealth.

The Psychiatrist will:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish accurate diagnoses using evidence-based practices.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists, nurses, case managers, peer specialists, psychiatric rehabilitation specialists, and other members of the treatment team.

  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications while ensuring safe medication management and adherence to Merakey policies regarding prescription renewals and electronic prescribing.

  • Provide crisis intervention, psychiatric consultation, and ongoing medication management for individuals participating in the Partial Hospitalization Program.

  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Educate individuals and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment recommendations, medications, potential side effects, and expected outcomes while obtaining informed consent.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment meetings, case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and peer review activities to support high-quality patient care.

  • Collaborate with primary care providers, community partners, and external behavioral health providers to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.

Merakey Stevens Center located at 33 State Avenue, Carlisle, PA 17013 provides telemedicine/telehealth, outpatient treatment and partial hospitalization/day treatment and is classified as a community mental health center. As part of treatment, it includes psychotropic medication, couples/family therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. The staff at Merakey Stevens Center is highly trained in treating young adults, adults and children / adolescents with mental health issues. In addition, this center offers treatment to transitional age young adults, people with serious mental illness and children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance. Additional services that the Merakey Stevens Center offers include court-ordered outpatient treatment, intensive case management and mentoring/peer support/consumer-run services.
