Hospitalist Physician Medical Director – UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center
Adfinitas Health has a full-time opportunity for a BC/BE Medical Director to join our well-established group at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland!
The Medical Director is responsible for leading and managing the Adfinitas Health program and providers at the facility, implementing and executing Operational and Quality Initiatives, fostering and maintaining positive relationships with staff members as well as hospital clinical and administrative staff, and the financial performance of the program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hospitalist Duties and Responsibilities:
Our hospitalist team provides inpatient internal medicine care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds and planning for discharge.
Clinical Quality Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement the clinical quality programs at your site. The programs may include those directed by Adfinitas or the client/hospital.
• Understand the quality incentive criteria applicable to your staff members and drive achievement of targets and goals while ensuring transparency and communication of metrics.
• Ensure that each provider receives their performance on the quality metrics including but not limited to:
• Implement and manage process improvement initiatives as directed.
• Attend designated meetings in the hospital, to include but not limited to:
• Ensure that sign out of team’s patients are conducted in a thorough, appropriate (verbal/written) and timely manner.
• Ensure that each provider understands the hospital’s expectations regarding timeliness of consults.
• Ensure that every provider timely (same day as seen) and accurately prepares notes for each patient they are responsible for. This applies to admission, follow-up notes and discharge notes.
• Ensure that APP staff is adequately supervised and receives sufficient clinical support.
• Communicate regularly with your supervisors regarding the clinical performance of your site.
Administrative and Managerial Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all shifts are filled consistent with the applicable staffing model and provider contact requirements.
• Manage utilization and scheduling of team’s PTO.
• Ensure that Company policies and practices are understood and followed.
• Establish a positive working relationship with each member of your team and develop an environment in which your staff members feel comfortable providing honest feedback.
• Promote and maintain a working environment that is healthy and constructive and engage in activities and initiatives that contribute positively to employee morale.
• Understand and promote the core values of Adfinitas, both as an individual and throughout your team as a leader for the Company.
• Maintain a performance file for each provider containing complaints, accomplishments, reviews, and any other relevant documentation.
• Seek guidance from and collaborate with Human Resources when needed to deal with discipline or performance management issues.
• Participate in standing meetings (at least biweekly) with your RMD and DO.
• Schedule and hold regular staff meetings with your team (at least monthly).
• Lead and manage the onsite recruitment process including timely conducting of interviews, reference checks, and on-site tours.
• Serve as a liaison to the MSO and assist with credentialing issues as needed.
• Orient and onboard all new providers.
• Conduct all performance evaluations and engagement elated initiatives in a timely and thorough manner.
• Manage and coordinate all APP Training objectives.
• Attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled meetings hospital administration.
• Communicate regularly with your supervisors regarding the administrative functionality of your site.
Financial Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the program has the Physician to PA mix contemplated for your site
• Track the P&L, control expenses and meet the expected financial targets
• Communicate regularly with your supervisors regarding the financial performance of your site.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
• Three (3) years of experience in a hospitalist role, preferred
• State Board of Physicians licensure in good standing
• Federal DEA/State CDS certification in good standing
• Existing facility medical staff member in good standing or successful application and credentialing at facility
• Internal Medicine/Family Practice board certification/eligibility
• Applicable screening and background checks
