Neurologist Needed – Movement Disorders, Brown Academic Appointment

Brown University Health is seeking a Neurologist with a specialty in Movement Disorders - fellowship training or experience in Movement Disorders is required.  This is an exciting opportunity to aid in the growth of the Neurology service line working with a committed group of health professionals and a team with very low turnover. This position is part of the long-term academic plan for the Rhode Island Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School.

About the job:

• Join a highly committed team of more than 40 neurologists (including 3 other movement disorder physicians), experienced advanced practice providers, nursing and secretarial support
• Report to the Neurologist in Chief, Rhode Island Hospital for clinical responsibilities
• Participate in a research program at Rhode Island Hospital.  It is expected that this effort will be a source of continuing research necessary to academic development and become a source of external funding
• For purposes of reappointment, promotion, and ongoing teaching evaluation, the candidates will be responsible to the Chairperson, Department of Neurology, Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University
• Rotate on the Neurology General Ward and Neurology Consult services at Rhode Island Hospital and Women and Infants’ Hospital 

• Inpatient/call service only about 4 weeks/year Academic appointment to Brown with teaching responsibilities

About you:

• Board certified or eligible in Neurology additional fellowship training or experience in movement disorders required
• Completion of a US-based Neurology residency required
• Record of accomplishment, promise as a teacher and as a clinician while also having a record of accomplishments pertinent to the academic rank of initial appointment
• Interest in settling long term in Rhode Island &/or Southeastern Massachusetts
