Soin Family Practice Center - Family Medicine Program Director

Kettering Health Soin’s Family Medicine Residency Program is searching for a board-certified Family Medicine physician to join their engaging faculty team as their new Program Director.  We are passionate about fostering a supportive environment, dedicated to career growth, for both residents and core faculty members.  The incoming Program Director would be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the program.  The Soin Family Medicine Residency is deeply embedded in the Greater Dayton area, providing essential care and support for our Community, while also serving others through mission-driven outreach.  Join our team where continuous innovation, compassion, and teamwork are highly encouraged to help foster future generations of Family Medicine physicians!

Position Requirements:

  • Board-Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFM)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience serving in Graduate Medical Education and Scholarly Activity 
  • Maintain at least a 0.8 FTE  
  • State of Ohio Medical License
  • Basic In-Office Procedural skills (Joint Injections, Nexplanon, IUD placement, dermatologic procedures)  
  • Ultrasound Skills (POCUS)
  • Must be strong in collaborative communication skills and team building 

 

Program Responsibilities (advised but not limited to):  

  • Participate in non-clinical program administration activities including recruiting, interviewing, and selecting resident applicants and program faculty
  • Providing didactic instruction and simulation exercises
  • Compassionate Mentorship to residents and faculty
  • Lead curriculum development and instruction
  • Supervision, education, promotion, and disciplinary action of residents
  • Assess residents’ competence
  • Review program faculty performance, including Core Competencies
  • Provide guidance related to program faculty promotion or removal
  • Oversee faculty meetings and conferences
  • Manage the program’s Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, and other GME committees
  • Provide clinical teaching, supervision of residents, and evaluate and provide formative feedback
  • Demonstrate commitment to the delivery of safe, equitable, high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care
  • Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences
  • Comply with ACGME and Review Committee policies and procedures
  • Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the DIO, GMEC, and ACGME
  • Ensure the program’s compliance with the Sponsoring Institution’s policies and procedures
  • Comply with all applicable ACGME guidelines and requirements
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned and required for continued ACGME accreditation
