Anesthesiologist Faculty Positions at New Hospital in Washington D.C.

We are seeking applications for full-time faculty positions in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine of the Greater Washington Anesthesia Network (GWAN), a newly formed independent private-academic practice group serving the District of Columbia’s population at Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center (CHRMC).

Regular partnership and faculty appointments (with affiliate partner of George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences) to these non-tenure track academic and private practice-based positions will be made at academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) and salary commensurate with years of clinical/academic experience. These positions are expected to begin as early as January 2027.

Responsibilities include delivering excellent patient care, participating in administrative duties, teaching learners, and pursuing scholarly interests. Generalists and those with fellowship training and/or subspecialty expertise in Regional Anesthesiology & Acute Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine, Obstetric Anesthesiology, Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology and Transplant Anesthesia are invited to apply.

Position Overview

• Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center (CHRMC):
• Newly opened (2025) full service, 136-bed community hospital located in DC Ward 8, with 2 General ORs, NORA and maternal health services.
• 80% Care Team Model and 20% Solo cases.
• Case Mix: General, GI, Interventional Radiology, GYN & OB Anesthesia

Position Qualifications

• Applicants must be board certified in Anesthesiology, or in the certification process, and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment

Compensation

• Total compensation including call $530,000+

Advanced Care for Residents of Wards 7 and 8

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years. This hospital integrates clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. Additionally, options are underway for a future freestanding emergency department in Ward 7. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.

The $434.4 million full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), trauma care, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices and clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.
