Medical Pod Leader | Springfield • Richmond • Virginia Beach
Are you a physician who enjoys patient care but is also ready to have a broader impact?
HarmonyCares is seeking Medical Pod Leaders for three growing Virginia markets: Springfield, Richmond, and Virginia Beach.
This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with meaningful physician leadership in a value-based, home-based primary care model designed for patients with complex healthcare needs.
Our Medical Pod Leaders partner closely with an Operations leader in a clinical/operational dyad, helping guide the performance and development of a local team of Advanced Practice Providers who are supported by a team including MAs/Phlebotomists, Schedulers, Nurse Care Managers, Patient Care Coordinators, Social Workers and Pharmacists
Up to 50% of the role may be dedicated to leadership responsibilities, including:
The remainder of the role is spent caring for patients directly, allowing you to remain connected to the work and the population your team serves.
HarmonyCares provides primary care to patients where they need it most — in their homes.
Our physicians care for medically complex patients who may have difficulty accessing traditional office-based care. Rather than focusing on high-volume, transactional medicine, our model is built around quality, outcomes, and relationships.
Clinical visits are generally 30–60 minutes, with physicians typically seeing approximately 6–10 patients per day. The additional time allows providers to better understand not only a patient's medical needs, but also the home environment and social factors that may be affecting their health.
Located in Fairfax County just outside Washington, D.C., Springfield offers convenient access to everything the Northern Virginia and D.C. region has to offer while providing a more suburban setting for day-to-day life. It can be an attractive option for physicians who want proximity to the culture, dining, airports, and amenities of the nation's capital while living outside the city itself.
Virginia's capital combines the amenities of a city with easy access to outdoor recreation and a wide variety of suburban communities. Richmond offers a strong restaurant and arts scene, historic neighborhoods, museums, and extensive recreation along the James River, including hiking, cycling, kayaking, and whitewater activities.
For physicians drawn to coastal living, Virginia Beach offers access to both the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay along with established residential communities, cultural amenities, military communities, and the broader Hampton Roads region. With a population of roughly 450,000, it combines the resources of a major city with the lifestyle of a coastal community.
This role is ideal for a physician who wants to do more than manage a traditional practice. You'll have the opportunity to develop clinicians, influence how care is delivered in your market, and help improve outcomes for a population with significant healthcare needs — while continuing to practice medicine yourself.
If you're interested in physician leadership and believe primary care should be measured by the quality of care delivered rather than simply the number of patients seen, we'd like to talk with you.
