Our Story...

We currently have 6 FTE hospitalists, all of whom are Med/Peds, along with Advanced Practice Provider support.  We are recruiting Med/Peds only for this program. We cover the ICU, managing ventilators, and do most of our own procedures.  We admit adult medical patients, surgical co-management, medical co-management, pediatric wards, nursery, attend High-Risk C-sections, and staff multidisciplinary rounds.  Our hospital's geographic location is perfect to make a med/peds hospitalist program possible. Schneck has approximately 90 beds and is very progressive and has a physician friendly administrative team.  The greatest aspect of this job is the teamwork amongst the group. Most of our physicians represent different residency programs, which makes for a diverse collection of experience.  It also means that we teach each other new skills and use our collective knowledge to help each other. It is uniquely amazing!  The average age of our medical staff is 44 (that’s young).  The medical staff here are extremely collegial and work well together.  Each physician sees around 15-18 contacts per day depending on the acuity of the service.
