About the Opportunity

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking to employ  two  OB/GYNs  for the highly desirable areas of Sarasota and Venice, Florida. We are located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa and 1.5 hours north of Ft. Myers on the West Coast of Florida. Our OB/GYNs see patients in the clinic setting, provide surgical services in the hospital, and collaborate with our employed OB Hospitalist group who provides 24/7 coverage of the ED and any unassigned expectant mothers.

  • Four-physician all women OBGYN group with equitable call seeking an experienced OBGYN to join the practice.
  • Provide outpatient services in two clinic locations. Group is only on staff at  one  hospital.
  • Mother Baby unit holds 30 beds and Labor & Delivery has 18 spacious suites.
  • 8 bed OB-ECC & triage unit opening in August 2024.
  • 3 C-section ORs and a 4-bed PACU with the ability to flex beds.
  • Level III NICU with 33 private rooms.
  • 24/7 Neonatologist and Maternal Fetal Medicine physician coverage.
  • First Physicians Group also employs Gyn/Oncs and Breast Surgical Oncologists
  • 4 daVinci Xi Robots

Sarasota Memorial Hospital – Venice  opened in October 2021 and now sees 35 deliveries a month. Due to the growth and the needs of the south county community, work is already under way on a third patient care tower adding 68 private patient suites to its existing 110 and expanding both the Emergency Department and OR. SMH-Venice was designed with the future in mind and has the capacity to more than double in size to 400 beds, 16 surgical suites and a 50-bed ER!

  • Outpatient clinic is conveniently located in the connected Medical Office Building.
  • Level 1 nursery, delivering patients 35+ weeks.

  • 6 ORs with daVinci Xi Robot
  • MFMs are employed by the group and are available as needed. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified
  • Licensed in Florida and holds a current DEA Certificate
  • Graduate of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN program

Benefits Include:

  • A 2-year employment contract with a generous salary and bonus potential. Physicians transition to a pay model after 2 years.
