Sheppard Pratt is committed to addressing the youth mental health crisis with nearly 120 inpatient child and adolescent beds offering dedicated programs to treat anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, and autism. We have 11 special education schools, and school-based programs embedded in more than 200 public schools and outpatient support programs across the state of Maryland.

What you can expect.

Working directly with the Chief Medical Officer, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist to assess and develop the function of Sheppard Pratt’s child and adolescent services across Maryland. You will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient psychiatric healthcare for the child and adolescent population.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to medical staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership to develop strategic plans, identify opportunities for improvement, and continuously improve upon existing programs and initiatives.
  • Monitoring clinical performance and overseeing quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Representing Sheppard Pratt in the community and serving as a spokesperson for the outpatient clinic, advocating for the needs of patients and medical staff.

What we need from you.

  • Must have a current license to practice in Maryland at time of hire.
  • Must be board certified to practice in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Must have completed a child and adolescent fellowship.
  • At least 7 years of related experience providing acute psychiatry services to child and adolescent populations.
  • Must have prior experience managing hospital services and multi-disciplinary psychiatry teams.
