Physician - General Neurology (Zeeland/Holland)

Spectrum Health’s Department of Neurological Health is adding a full-time general neurologist to provide increased patient access in our lakeshore communities.  From a practice location in Holland or Zeeland, this position will have a robust clinical practice with potential for EMG, if desired.

The ideal candidate is a general neurologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology. You’ll find this position very rewarding if you enjoy variety in your practice, working on a strong team, and caring for a diverse group of patients.

• Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
• Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
• Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
• Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
• Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
• Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
