Akron Children's Hospital Pediatric Physician Scholarship

The Akron Children's Hospital Pediatric Physician Scholarship was created in partnership with PracticeMatch to recognize and award physicians in training who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their patients, their community, and the field of pediatrics and related subspecialties.

This scholarship is designed to help offset the high cost of education for a current resident or fellow.

The ACGME has established six areas of measurement of a resident's ability. These include:

• Practice-Based Learning and Improvement
• Patient Care and Procedural Skills
• Systems-Based Practice
• Medical Knowledge
• Interpersonal and Communication Skills
• Professionalism

To enter, submit your CV and an essay (500 words or more) describing how you have developed your abilities, specifically focusing on the domains of Professionalism and Interpersonal & Communication Skills. The winner of this scholarship will receive $2,000 to be applied toward their education.

• CRITERIA

  Scholarship essays will be judged on the applicant's ability to clearly express and validate their perspective while addressing the essay prompt. Judges will look for writing that is articulate, logically organized, and at least 500 words.

  The judging panel will include leaders from PracticeMatch and Akron Children's Hospital who value and understand the vital impact of pediatric healthcare providers in their communities and across the nation.

      Entrants must be enrolled in an ACGME-accredited Pediatric or Related Subspecialty residency or fellowship program at the time of the contest deadline.
