Generating ROI and Impact at Physician Specialty Conferences
The PracticeMatch team has been on the road in 2024, exhibiting at a majority of national specialty conferences across the country. Physician specialty conferences have been a core part of our strategy for introducing physicians to our offerings and encouraging them to attend our career fairs and find their dream jobs on our popular job board. Specialty conferences allow physicians to earn CME credits, stay current with medical advancements, and network with prospective employers and peers, mentors, and leaders in their field.

Our team has put together our top advice for generating ROI and maximizing impact through a memorable presence at specialty conferences and events.
- Be Proactive! If the conference allows for the purchase of a pre-conference list, buy it! You will be able to contact these physicians in advance, build rapport, send a postcard, connect on LinkedIn, and develop a priority list of prospective candidates that you want to be sure to meet in person. From here, you can schedule dinner, happy hour, drinks, etc. in advance.
- Get Creative! Giveaways and promotional items are an often overlooked gateway to booth engagement. Inject your sense of humor, company culture, and branding into your promotional items. The PracticeMatch team recently attended ACOG and noticed that booths with specialty-focused and humorous promotional items attracted booth traffic and served as icebreakers.
- Sign up Early! The earlier you sign up to exhibit at a specialty career fair, the better your booth placement typically is. Aim for corner booth placement on main walkways in the exhibit hall when booth selection time comes around. Main thoroughfares see more traffic and are the same cost as the lesser trafficked surrounding aisles.
- Great Traffic is in the Bag! Promotional items, knick-knacks, tchotchkes, whatever you call them, these items are abundant at specialty conferences. A logoed tote bag makes the perfect giveaway item that is likely to have a lifespan that endures longer than most promotional items due to its utility value. With more and more states issuing plastic bag bans, these tote bags will become even more popular in those states and beyond!
- Integrate QR Codes! Whether you have a raffle planned, aim to capture candidate profiles via a digital form, or want to collect information for your talent community, QR codes are the norm for fast and easy lead capturing. Attendees can quickly and easily scan your QR code, fill out a quick form, and be entered to win a contest, etc. without the hassle of filling out lead cards by hand.
- Let us Do the Work for you! PracticeMatch attends a majority of the specialty conferences across the US! Exhibiting allows us to gather candidate data on your behalf! In addition to our call center, career fairs, physician webinars, career guidebook, and CV builder and review services, we utilize these conferences to populate profiles in Pinpoint. This saves your organization time and money by allowing us to capture candidate data whether you have the time and budget to attend or not! Unlike our competitors, this is included as part of your Pinpoint subscription. We do not charge additional fees to access this data.
